Woodchase park is 1.75 acre open space currently under construction in Houston, located on Woodchase Drive just north of the Westpark Tollway. It is part of a series of parks connected by the Westchase District Trail System, with the goal of creating functional outdoor spaces for a neighborhood that is lacking in public parks.
Following the success of Levy Park, NA+AA collaborated with OJB Landscape Architecture again to design the pavilion for Woodchase park. The pavilion is made up of a set of three wings or shards that overlap and intersect to create a dynamic roof profile. It houses family restrooms and will host park activities and events within the shaded structure, becoming the focal point of Woodchase park.
